Scottish Social Services Council Skills Sets
Skills Sets are guidance notes to help employers, assessors and candidates identify the SVQ units and underpinning knowledge most relevant to their area of practice. They can also be used to help workers move from one service area to another. Instead of taking a full SVQ again, staff can complete units from the relevant Skills Set to equip them for their new area of work. Skills sets have been developed in:
- Dementia care (SVQ3)
- Learning disability (SVQ3)
- Physical disability (SVQ2&3)
- Substance misuse
- Mental health
- Working with people with complex physical care needs (SVQ2&3)
- Secure accommodation (SVQ3&4)
- Drugs and alcohol (SVQ3)
To request copies of the Skills Sets please contact Vanessa Glenday. Skill sets are available online at http://www.sssc.uk.com/Library/Current+Publications/Workforce+Development/Workforce+Development.htm?p=5
